The Indispensable Leader...International Internet Day!

Internet has become the heaven of souls, where every human finds something unbelievable, mind-boggling, breath-taking, interesting and informative! ---Kavya

The International Day of Internet is marked on 29th October every year. Since the year 2005 the International Internet Day has been famously celebrated to commemorate a momentous day in the history of telecommunications and technology. The day immortalizes the anniversary of the first internet transmission- message that was sent between two computers on 29th October 1969 through ARPANET, the predecessor of the Internet. Since then, technology has become an indispensable part of our lives. It is the leader who has given us the control to use it in the most effective and efficient way as we can however it has also made us completely dependent onto it. But the space it has made in our hearts, makes it very evident in our lives and we can't even imagine living without it. The internet has affected our lives - in both a positive and negative way.

Can you ever imagine your life without:

online classes through our studies have not been disturbed?

watching videos on YouTube?

shopping or banking online?

playing online games?

seeking information on anything across the globe on a real-time basis?

using social networking sites?

collaborating with office colleagues?

video calling or phone calling your friends?

and so much more?

No right? Understanding the importance and value of internet in our lives is very crucial. And to use it in the best way we can, we need to stop misusing it and cease our wrong intentions to it. In these Coronavirus times, the internet has been the beats of our hearts and has given us the ability to continue on with life. It would have been almost impossible to continue our lives without internet.

Where the internet is very useful for the world it has some misuses as well. These misuses mainly come from teenagers or very young kids who have immature minds. These issues also occur from fraud illegal cybercrime activities.

One of the major misuses of the internet is wasting the time of applications like Facebook, Instagram, or related items. People have been spending hours without realizing that they have lost so much of their time that they can utilize in useful purposes. Teenagers who get addicted to using Facebook and other social media handles to find it very difficult to spare time for their studies. They also come across some irrelevant material not relevant to their age and get attracted towards it. The extreme use of the internet causes severe health damage to individuals as well. They cannot eat well, cannot sleep well, and cannot concentrate on their activities.

There have been at least millions and trillions of cybercrime cases that have caused huge amounts of harm to people and society. This is the negative side of internet which is really hard to terminate or even fade it away. We need to be aware of cyber-attacks and keep our data and computers protected.

Knowing that internet has become a vital and indispensable part of our lives, without internet our lives are incomplete, therefore we should not be misusing it for personal reasons or any other use. Always use it effectively for the betterment of yourselves and other people.

The Internet is becoming the town square for the global village of tomorrow. -Bill Gates

Internet Technology is destructive only in the hands of people who do not realize that they are one and the same process as the universe.

Vanish the negative side of internet and make the half glass into a full glass filled of water! So that there's no chance for pessimism!

Fun Facts Section

It's hard to believe that the first internet transmission was sent just months after Neil Armstrong walked on the moon. The internet is already slightly extra-terrestrial, with video and communication available to the astronauts and space stations circling in low-earth orbit.

According to reports, as of January 2021 there were 4.66 billion active internet users worldwide which is 59.5 per cent of the global population. Interestingly, out of this around 4.32 billion users which is comprising the 92.6 per cent of global users accessed the internet via mobile devices.

Internet - the beats of our heart, the breath of our lungs and the source of our lives!
