The human race has always invented something, from inventing wheels, light bulbs to creating smartphones and autonomous vehicles. It is very certain that technological processes will continue to develop and change as we work, live and survive in the coming years.

Since the beginning of the new millennium, the world has witnessed the indigenous inventions of social media, smartphones, self-driving cars, and autonomous flying vehicles. 

So now let's take a look at some of the inventions from the 21st century. What makes this time period so special? What's so unique about the inventions of the 21st century? 1. Social Media 

So let's start with the most evident one - Social media. I'm sure you must be as excited to connect with your friends and put posts as much as you're tired of seeing posts of your friends and being extremely cautious of privacy threats. However, social media is an exhilarating experience where you connect with friends, relatives and business colleagues. It is a hub for both great and useless information. Tools like Friendster and MySpace entered the scene in 2002 and 2003 respectively, opening the doors for the eventual giant Facebook.

2. Bitcoin and Cryptocurrencies

An artificial eye is not only one of the top 100 inventions of the 21st century but also one of the greatest achievements in the human history. The Argus II, a bionic eye, is a miracle for the blind as it can restore partial vision. 







11. Mobile Operating System 

Android - The first and largest mobile operation system was invented in 2003 by Andy Rubin. 




12. Driverless cars 

Google's driverless cars have started being tested. Legislations have been passed in some states in the US allowing driverless cars, and if testing goes smoothly, these could become a reality in the next few years.
